Last Tuesday, they screened Grand Hotel directed by Edmund Goulding, written by William A. Drake and based on the novel and play Menschen im Hotel by Vicki Baum. It starred Greta Garbo, John Barrymore, Joan Crawford, Wallace Beery, and Lionel Barrymore. Love and tragedy mark the lives of the guests at a Berlin hotel.

Joan Crawford was amazing of course. Her thin, arched eyebrows, over drawn lips and no bra was a perfect costume choice.
