Week 4 is here and I am already seeing noticeable changes! On the first day, we had to do wide and narrow pushups, and I will be the first to call myself out on the fact that I have to do girlie push-ups and even that is a struggle for me! However, today I was able to get through 20 military push-ups and the last 10 in the girlie form. I’ll get to 100 one day!
While traveling over the weekend, I tried my best to stick to a clean diet, but wanted to do something other than egg whites and toast, so breakfast was a power smoothie! My mom always makes the best smoothies in the world, she’s not afraid to throw in everything she’s got! No wonder she has the bone density of a 20 year old..
2 c. spinach (be like Popeye!)
1 banana (frozen is best)
1c. unsweetened almond milk
1 tbsp chia seeds (they’re an awesome fiber boost!)
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 tbsp maca powder (less if you’re not use to it)
1/2 c. frozen raspberries
1/2 c. 0% fat Greek yogurt
throw in any other berries you would like!
Blend and consume!!
This smoothie will give you the strength you need, whether you’re hitting the weights or the trail, and will energize you for a awhile!
If you are doing this routine, best of luck!! If you’re not and thinking of doing it, DO IT! We also just signed up for a marathon in March, so this is a good way to help get my knees strengthened a bit.
