A little scandal on Hump Day.
I know, I know, this is soo two weeks ago, but for those of you that haven’t heard, the famous Delacroix painting “Liberty Leading the People” has been defaced!
Police detained a woman accused of writing on the artwork! What a jerk-wad! Luckily, there was no serious or permanent damage done to the piece.
This painting, created by Delacroix in 1830, was to commemorate that year’s July Revolution. It is depicting a woman triumphantly hoisting the tricolor French flag and it has been on display at a new branch of the Louvre Museum in Lens, in northern France.
So this sneaky little crackhead (the 28 year old art hater) decided that just before closing, she would tag the canvas with some conspiracy acronym nonsense. A local prosecutor told Agence France-Presse that the woman, whose name was not given, seemed “unstable” and would be given a psychiatric examination.
Now you’re asking yourself, “what could possible be so important that you would deface such art?”
This little shout out is for a website named “Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth”, whose backers say they are seeking to establish the truth of the September 11, 2001 suicide airliner attacks on New York’s Twin Towers.
And THAT has to be written on a piece in France? Why not on Honest Abe’s statue up in DC if you’re looking for the “truth”.. but seriously though…no defacing stuff. That is not cool.
