Oh Herman: Munster House Kit

So it is official: my husband is awesome. I’ve known this for awhile now, but lately he has totally stepped up his game!

The other day, we were walking around Burbank and we passed this little hobby shop. I am not a huge hobby girl, but I couldn’t help but gawk at this bright green box lurking in the window. “The Munster’s House Kit”.  A perfect little scale model of 1313 Mockingbird Lane.

Oh yeah.. backstory: this holiday season, we decided to do something a little bit different. We normally don’t get a tree, or buy lots of gifts, maybe just go out to eat or something like Disney Land. Yet, to help be more merry this year, we have been doing the 12 days of Christmas..so each day leading up to the big day, we give little gifts (on my side they are little, he wasn’t playing right) so on Day 1, I got the Munster House!

Having never done a model kit before, I was not sure what I was in for. However, after breaking open that bad boy, I was hooked!

This was so much fun and such a good little project, it is easy to see how people get fascinated making these little sets.

Even Ch’en helped! Well, he mainly walked over the pieces that I would set down, sit on walls not yet built, and then go over and do lickies on the couch-trying to break my concentration and focus on him!

So if you know of someone hard to shop for on your Christmas list, this is definitly a fun thing to do, share, and not too many people have mini mansion in their home..right?

Randomness: we also passed a house that had the ABC Family, “13 Days of Halloween” in their driveway!
